When four stage magicians start robbing banks during sold-out performances and showering their audiences with the cash, the chase falls to FBI agent Dylan Rhodes and an Interpol detective. Mark Ruffalo's Rhodes tracks a crew led by Jesse Eisenberg, with Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco among the illusionists whose acts keep turning into public crimes. As the case moves from New York to Paris, each performance becomes both a heist and a taunt, with Morgan Freeman's debunker stepping in to explain how the tricks might be done while the investigators try to figure out who's really running the show.
