The Whale
Drama117 min
Brendan Fraser is Charlie, a reclusive English teacher in Idaho who lives with severe obesity and reaches out to the estranged teenage daughter he left years earlier. Sadie Sink’s Ellie answers that attempt with anger and suspicion, while Hong Chau’s Liz remains Charlie’s closest support as the conversations grow sharper and more personal. Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the film stays largely inside Charlie’s apartment, where family history, guilt, and questions of faith press in on every exchange.
