Months after an alien invasion shatters Earth, a band of soldiers and civilians moves through the ruins outside Boston, trying to stay alive while striking back. Former history professor Tom Mason, played by Noah Wyle, serves as second-in-command of the 2nd Massachusetts Militia Regiment, where every decision has to balance scarce supplies, frightened families, and the constant threat of attack. As the group searches for shelter, weapons, and missing children, they face not just alien forces but the strain of holding a community together on the move. Will Patton appears as the regiment’s hard-driving commander, pushing the survivors toward resistance when simply enduring another day is already a fight.
