After a local priest is gunned down by Sam Clayton’s bandits, a young parishioner rides out to find the dead man’s twin brother, a former gunfighter with unfinished business in town. Lee Van Cleef takes the double role, first as Father John and then as the brother pulled back toward violence, while Jack Palance’s Clayton leads the outlaw gang behind the killing. As the gunman returns, the story folds in a threatened mother and son, a frightened frontier community, and a revenge plot rooted in the clash between faith and frontier justice.
