In seventeenth-century England, Vincent Price is Lord Whitman, a nobleman bent on stamping out witchcraft by terrorizing the local village. When one of his victims answers with an occult curse, the danger shifts from the countryside to Whitman’s own family, moving through the house with help from someone inside who doesn’t know what they’ve unleashed. Elisabeth Bergner appears as the woman at the center of that retaliation, turning Whitman’s witch hunt into a feud marked by murder, superstition, and supernatural revenge.
