After the Storm
ComedyDrama118 min
Ryota is a onetime prizewinning novelist who now works as a private detective, drifting after his divorce and trying to stay connected to his 11-year-old son. Hiroshi Abe is Ryota, still measuring himself against a literary award he won 15 years earlier, while Kirin Kiki's Yoshiko lives alone in the apartment where much of the family's history still lingers. When Ryota, his ex-wife Kyoko, and their son Shingo gather there just as a typhoon rolls through, the storm traps them together for one long night of unfinished conversations.
