Land of Mine

DramaWar100 min

After Germany surrenders in May 1945, a group of young German POWs is sent to Denmark’s west coast and ordered to dig up the mines buried beneath the sand. Roland Møller is the Danish sergeant overseeing the operation, pushing the boys through work that has to be done by hand, inch by inch, on the beaches they once helped fortify. Louis Hofmann is among the prisoners forced into the detail. As the war gives way to occupation and punishment, the film centers on the dangerous routine of clearing the coastline and the strained, shifting relationship between the Danish guards and the German youths in their custody.
