Kay Miniver is a middle-class wife in rural England, occupied by family routines and village concerns as her son Vin falls for Carol Beldon, the granddaughter of the imposing Lady Beldon. Greer Garson is Kay, with Walter Pidgeon as her husband, Clem, at the center of a household that first seems defined by small domestic matters and a prize rose competition. Then World War II reaches the home front. Vin joins the RAF, air raids become part of daily life, and the Minivers' comfortable world is reshaped by the pressures and losses of wartime Britain.
