The Girl with the Needle
CrimeDrama123 min
In 1919 Copenhagen, a newly unemployed, pregnant young woman struggling to survive is taken in by an older woman who runs an underground adoption agency for mothers with nowhere else to turn. Vic Carmen Sonne is the woman at the center of the story, while the elder who offers her work and shelter (Trine Dyrholm) quickly becomes both protector and source of unease. As the two form an unexpected bond inside the secret operation, suspicion begins to gather around what is happening to the women and children who pass through it.
