The Innocents

DramaHorrorMysteryThriller100 min

At a country house in mid-19th-century Essex, Deborah Kerr is a young governess hired to look after two children whose manners and composure seem increasingly unsettling. As she settles into the estate, she becomes convinced that the house and its grounds are visited by ghosts, and that the children may be under their influence. Martin Stephens and Pamela Franklin give the siblings an eerie self-possession, while Kerr keeps the story fixed on a woman trying to separate duty, fear, and what she believes she has seen.
