On a dying Earth, a young scientist stays behind to search for a way to make the planet livable again, even as most of humanity has joined an exodus toward the last shuttle off-world. Margaret Qualley is the researcher holding on to that possibility; Anthony Mackie is the stranger whose urgent plan to leave brings him into her orbit. As the two cross paths, the film narrows its focus to survival, isolation, and the pull between abandoning a ruined planet and refusing to give up on it.
