After a time capsule is opened at his son’s Massachusetts elementary school, John Koestler (Nicolas Cage), a widowed professor, finds a sheet of numbers that appears to line up with major disasters, including some that haven’t happened yet. As the pattern grows harder to dismiss, he tracks down Diana Wayland, with Rose Byrne as the daughter of the woman who wrote the message decades earlier. What starts as a code to crack turns into a search for how the predictions work, why they point forward with such precision, and why John’s family seems connected to whatever is coming next.
