The Four Feathers
ActionAdventureDramaRomanceWar132 min
When a young British officer resigns rather than join his regiment in Britain’s Sudan campaign, his closest friends and fiancée answer with four white feathers—their mark of cowardice. Heath Ledger is the disgraced officer at the center of the story, while Kate Hudson is the fiancée who turns on him with the others. Cut off from his regiment and his place in the British military world, he heads for Sudan in disguise, trying to recover his honor amid desert warfare, imperial politics, and shifting loyalties. Djimon Hounsou appears as a key ally as the story moves between military pageantry and the brutality of the campaign.
