Cats
ComedyDramaFamilyFantasyMusical110 min
Once a year, a tribe of cats called the Jellicles gathers to decide which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and return to a new Jellicle life. Francesca Hayward carries the film through that annual pageant of songs, introductions, and dance, while Judi Dench stands at the center of the tribe and Jennifer Hudson is among the featured cats. Adapted from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical and T. S. Eliot’s poetry, the film reshapes that world as a surreal fantasy built around performance, with choreography ranging from ballet and tap to hip-hop and jazz.
