Cosmopolis
CrimeDramaMysteryThriller109 min
On a day when Manhattan is snarled by a presidential visit and anti-capitalist unrest, 28-year-old asset manager Eric Packer rides across town in a stretch limo for a haircut as his fortune and sense of control start slipping away. Robert Pattinson is Eric, sealed inside a cocoon of glass, technology, and security while the city presses in outside. David Cronenberg keeps the film moving between the limo’s hushed interior and the chaos in the streets, as a string of tense encounters — including one with Paul Giamatti — turns Eric’s cross-town trip into a long day of mounting paranoia.
