The Dictator
Comedy83 min
Sacha Baron Cohen is Admiral General Aladeen, the pampered ruler of the fictional Republic of Wadiya, who travels to New York and the United Nations to make sure democracy never reaches the country he has spent years oppressing. Anna Faris and Ben Kingsley join him in a story that drops an absolute ruler into American public life, with Aladeen colliding with politicians, media attention, and life outside his palace. The jokes lean on culture clash, celebrity spectacle, and blunt political satire as Aladeen tries to keep his grip on power.
