In 1992, a young woman in Georgia’s remote Svaneti mountains is promised in marriage to a soldier returning from the civil war, only to fall for the comrade who comes home with him. Dina’s choice collides with a village life ruled by family bargains and centuries-old custom, where pride and obligation shape every decision. George Babluani and Natia Vibliani are among the key faces in a story that stays close to the rhythms of an isolated mountain community, with the wider upheaval of the Georgian Civil War pressing in from beyond the valley.
