The Lion King
ActionAdventureAnimationComedyDramaFamilyMusical118 min
Young lion prince Simba is raised to follow his father, Mufasa, onto the throne at Pride Rock, but his uncle Scar has plans of his own for the kingdom. Forced away from home after tragedy upends the royal family, Simba grows up far from the responsibilities he was born into, alongside the unlikely company of Timon and Pumbaa. Donald Glover voices the older Simba, with Chiwetel Ejiofor bringing a cold edge to Scar and James Earl Jones returning as Mufasa. Jon Favreau’s version retells the story with photoreal animals, familiar songs, and a sweeping African savanna backdrop.
