The Great Raid

ActionAdventureDramaWar132 min

In the closing months of World War II, the U.S. Sixth Ranger Battalion is ordered deep into Japanese-held Luzon to reach the prison camp at Cabanatuan and free more than 500 American POWs. Benjamin Bratt leads the rescue force, with James Franco among the Rangers moving through the Philippine jungle toward a camp where time is running out. The film follows the mission’s planning and advance in detail, including the role of Filipino guerrillas and the risks of crossing enemy territory undetected, while the prisoners wait for word that anyone is coming.
