Friends with Money
ComedyDramaRomance88 min
Olivia is in her mid-thirties, newly single, and no longer sure what comes next after walking away from a well-paid job. Jennifer Aniston’s Olivia starts measuring her own uncertainty against the polished lives of three close friends: Christine (Catherine Keener), a screenwriter whose marriage is strained at home and at work; Jane, played by Frances McDormand, in a relationship that has gone flat; and Franny, Joan Cusack’s wealthy young mother, juggling comfort, marriage, and parenthood. As money, status, and early middle age start to shift the balance between them, old friendships get tangled up with envy, disappointment, and the uneasy question of who actually has it figured out.
