ComedyDramaRomance87 min

Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp falls for a blind flower seller who mistakes him for a wealthy man, and he scrambles to become both her secret benefactor and her suitor. Virginia Cherrill is the young woman at the center of his attention, while an erratic millionaire (Harry Myers) drifts in and out of the Tramp’s life, treating him as a close friend one moment and a stranger the next. Written and directed by Chaplin, the 1931 film moves between street-corner romance, a memorable boxing-ring episode, and the Tramp’s small, improvised attempts to help her.
