Midnight in Paris

ComedyFantasyRomance94 min

On a Paris trip with his fiancée’s family, screenwriter Gil Pender finds himself slipping away at midnight into the city’s 1920s past. Owen Wilson is Gil, a nostalgic aspiring novelist whose nighttime wanderings turn into encounters with the artists and writers he idolizes, including Ernest Hemingway. Rachel McAdams’s Inez wants a very different future, and the distance between them grows as Gil becomes more absorbed in another era. Woody Allen’s film moves between present-day cafés, hotel rooms, and galleries and a romanticized Paris of jazz clubs, literary salons, and late-night streets.
