The Long, Hot Summer
Drama115 min
In a sweltering Southern town, drifter Ben Quick arrives with a reputation that makes people wary and a boldness that makes him hard to ignore. He catches the eye of powerful landowner Will Varner, who sees use in a man willing to stir things up, but Ben’s presence unsettles the whole family. Varner’s troubled son resents him, and his guarded daughter Clara resists being drawn into the schemes and tensions gathering around the household. As Ben tries to turn charm and ambition into a place for himself, old suspicions, family rivalries, and questions about his past keep closing in, pushing every relationship toward open conflict.
