Silenced
CrimeDramaThriller125 min
At a school for hearing-impaired children in early-2000s Gwangju, young deaf students are subjected to repeated sexual assaults by faculty members, and the abuse is allowed to continue. Based on actual events, Silenced follows the case as it moves beyond the school’s walls and into a wider fight over accountability. Gong Yoo and Jung Yu-mi lead the adults drawn into what happened there, while In-seo Jeong and Baek Seung-hwan are among the students caught in the middle. The film stays close to the institutional failure surrounding the crimes and the children forced to speak through it.
