Born to Be Wild
ActionAdventureDocumentary40 min
Orphaned orangutans in Borneo and baby elephant calves in Kenya are at the center of this documentary, which follows the people raising them after rescue and guiding them toward life in the wild. Primatologist Dr. Birute Galdikas works in the rain forests of Borneo with young orangutans learning how to climb, feed, and socialize. On Kenya’s savannah, Dame Daphne Sheldrick and her team care for vulnerable elephant calves, from bottle-feeding to the routines that help them recover. Moving between dense jungle and open grassland, the film stays close to the day-to-day bond between endangered animals and the humans keeping them alive.
