In the Viking village of Norheim around the year 790, daily life runs on raids, slavery, status games, and arguments over how a proper Norse community should work. As chieftains, warriors, and would-be reformers try to hold the settlement together, petty rivalries and social ambitions keep turning brutal customs into awkward disputes. Returning raiders bring home new problems along with their loot, and power struggles inside the village complicate every feast, marriage plan, and public punishment. The series treats Viking life as both a functioning society and a source of constant embarrassment, with people trying to navigate honor, violence, and upward mobility while behaving as if they are stuck in a very dysfunctional small town.
