In Tokyo, student and part-time escort Akiko is sent to spend the night with Takashi, an elderly retired professor she has never met. Rin Takanashi is Akiko, juggling classes, clients, and a jealous boyfriend, while Takashi (Tadashi Okuno) greets her with a grandfatherly calm that unsettles the terms of their meeting. As the two move through the city over the next day, chance encounters and mistaken assumptions begin to blur the line between arrangement, performance, and attachment.
