Cobain: Montage of Heck
AnimationDocumentaryDrama132 min
Kurt Cobain comes into focus through his own archive in this portrait of the Nirvana frontman, moving from his childhood in Aberdeen, Washington, to the upheaval of 1990s fame. Cobain’s home movies, journals, artwork, photographs, and recordings are woven together with animation and interview material. Courtney Love and bandmate Krist Novoselic speak from close range, alongside members of Cobain’s family, as the film tracks the singer-songwriter’s private life and public image at once.
