In late-1980s Florida, drifter and sex worker Aileen Wuornos starts a relationship with Selby Wall and clings to it as a chance at something steadier. Money runs short, and Aileen keeps turning tricks to support them. After a violent encounter with a client, she kills him and tells herself it was self-defense. That act becomes the start of a deadly pattern as fear, rage, and desperation blur together, and the life she imagines with Selby grows harder to hold onto. Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci are at the center of a story that follows Aileen’s slide from survival into serial murder.
