Drawing Closer
DramaRomance119 min
Seventeen-year-old Akito has only a year left to live, and he finds new purpose in bringing joy to a girl whose own diagnosis leaves her just six months. Ren Nagase leads opposite Natsuki Deguchi as two teenagers facing the same countdown meet and grow close through acts of care, honesty, and the time they still have. Takahiro Miki directs the 2024 Japanese film with its attention on Akito’s changing sense of what a life can hold, even as both of them are forced to measure it differently.
