American Dreamz
ComedyDrama107 min
As a hit TV singing contest barrels toward its finale, the country fixates on two finalists: a young Midwestern woman and a showtunes-loving singer from Orange County. Dennis Quaid is President Staton, newly awakened to the show’s hold on the public and eager to attach himself to the spectacle, while Hugh Grant hovers at the center of its slick media machine. As the broadcast grows into a national obsession, pop-star ambition and White House image-making end up on the same stage.
