The House with a Clock in Its Walls
ComedyFamilyFantasyHorrorMysterySci-Fi106 min
Owen Vaccaro is Lewis, a newly orphaned 10-year-old sent to live with his Uncle Jonathan in the 1950s, in a creaky old mansion where a mysterious ticking seems to come from inside the walls. Jack Black’s Jonathan turns out to be a warlock, while Cate Blanchett’s Mrs. Zimmerman, the sharp-eyed neighbor across the way, knows plenty about the house and its past. As Lewis begins learning magic, the place opens up into secret passageways, buried grudges, and a hidden clock tied to a dead warlock’s plan — one Lewis accidentally stirs back to life.
