When motorcycle gang leader Raven Shaddock kidnaps rock singer Ellen Aim, her ex Tom Cody blows back into town and takes a rescue job from Ellen’s desperate manager. Michael Paré is Cody, a soldier-for-hire cutting through alleyways, clubs, and gang turf, while Diane Lane’s Ellen is the headliner at the center of it all. With Amy Madigan’s hard-edged McCoy riding shotgun and Willem Dafoe’s Raven looming over the city, the film moves through a rain-slick rock-and-roll landscape where 1950s car culture collides with 1980s neon.
