The Avengers
ActionAdventureSci-Fi143 min
When Loki seizes a powerful energy source and puts Earth in the path of an alien attack, S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) scrambles to unite a group of heroes who are used to working alone. Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark brings the armor and attitude, joining Steve Rogers, Bruce Banner, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye in a shaky alliance. As Loki pushes his plan forward, the film moves from recruitment and team infighting to a full-scale battle over Manhattan, with gods, soldiers, spies, and scientists trying to function as a single unit.
