Striking the Palace
ComedyDrama87 min
At one of Paris’s finest hotels, 20-year-old Eva joins a crew of chambermaids whose work keeps the rooms spotless and the guests far from the labor behind the luxury. Lucie Charles-Alfred is at the center of the ensemble, with Corinne Masiero among the women Eva meets as she discovers low pay, subcontracting, and the vulnerability built into the job. As the maids organize for better conditions and push back against a system that leaves them largely invisible, their strike spills into the street with an unusual form of protest: a handmade Fashion Week staged outside the hotel.
