In 16th-century Florence, a young noblewoman turns away from the life expected of her and sets her sights on becoming a professional artist. Mikako Komatsu is Arte, whose ambition puts her at odds with class rules and the limits placed on women in Renaissance society. She finds a way in through Leo’s painting studio, where Katsuyuki Konishi voices a master who is exacting, blunt, and far more interested in skill than status. As Arte learns the trade, the series follows her first steps in a working atelier and the social world she has chosen to leave behind.
