The Ballad of Wallis Island
ComedyDramaRomance100 min
Tim Key is Charles, an eccentric lottery winner living alone on remote Wallis Island, where he hatches an extravagant plan: bring his favorite folk duo, Mortimer-McGwyer, back together for a private performance at his home. Carey Mulligan and Tom Basden are the former bandmates — and former lovers — who accept the invitation, only to find that Charles’s dream reunion comes with its own awkward pressure. As the musicians settle into the island’s strange intimacy, old tensions resurface and Charles scrambles to hold onto the version of the night he’s been picturing for years.
