How to Steal a Million
ComedyCrimeRomance123 min
Nicole Bonnet needs to steal a sculpture from a Paris museum before experts expose her father’s lucrative forgery operation. Audrey Hepburn is Nicole, the polished daughter of collector Charles Bonnet (Hugh Griffith), whose counterfeit masterpiece has drawn exactly the attention he can’t afford. To pull off the theft, she turns to Simon Dermott, a cat burglar, and Peter O’Toole gives the part a cool, teasing counterpoint to Hepburn’s poise. William Wyler frames the caper around art-world fraud, high society, and a museum break-in that keeps romance close to the heist.
