White Palace
DramaRomance103 min
Widowed young ad executive Max Baron begins an unlikely affair with Nora Baker, an older diner waitress whose life and manners sit far from his polished social circle. James Spader is Max, still shaken by his wife’s death; Susan Sarandon’s Nora is direct, funny, and unapologetic about what she wants. Their attraction is immediate, but the relationship doesn’t stay private for long. As Max tries to balance desire with grief, the gap in age, class, and background starts to surface among his Jewish friends and upper-crust colleagues, turning a secret romance into something harder to contain.
