Yojimbo

ActionAdventureDramaThriller110 min

A masterless samurai drifts into a 19th-century Japanese village split between two crime bosses and sees an opening. Toshirô Mifune is Sanjuro, a wary ronin who hires himself out first to one side, then the other, as rival merchants fight for control of the local gambling trade. Tatsuya Nakadai's cold, gun-carrying enforcer shifts the balance as Akira Kurosawa threads swordplay, dark comedy, and small-town corruption through the standoff. What begins as a bodyguard job turns into a dangerous game of manipulation between two ruthless factions.
