Jackie Chan is Asian Hawk, a mercenary adventurer racing to recover the bronze heads of the Chinese zodiac, looted from Beijing’s Old Summer Palace by French and British forces in 1860. As the search stretches across multiple countries, Hawk works with a Chinese student and a Parisian woman while wealthy buyer Lawrence, played by Oliver Platt, puts money and possession at the center of the hunt. Directed by Chan, the film builds its artifact-chase story around elaborate fight scenes, high-tech gear, and a comic, fast-moving scramble for pieces of a stolen cultural treasure.
