Keanu Reeves is LAPD officer Jack Traven, racing to keep a Los Angeles city bus above 50 miles per hour after a vengeful bomber rigs it to explode if the speed drops. Sandra Bullock is one of the passengers, suddenly pulled into the mission as the crisis unfolds on crowded streets and freeways. From outside the bus, Dennis Hopper's Howard Payne keeps the pressure on, turning a daytime commute into a moving standoff between police, civilians, and a bomb that leaves almost no room for error.
