Zac Efron is Logan Thibault, a Marine back from three tours in Iraq who travels to Louisiana to find the woman in a photograph he came to see as his good luck charm during the war. The search leads him to Beth, and Taylor Schilling gives her an initial reserve as Logan takes a job at her family’s kennel and gradually becomes part of her daily life. As a romance begins to take shape, the film keeps Logan’s wartime experience close to the story, with the mystery of the photograph hanging over their connection.
