Three siblings are fed up with their strict, distracted mother and seize on a wild idea: in a hidden market, kids can trade in a parent for a different model. Armed with a handful of clues and a lot of wishful thinking, they set out to find the mysterious “Mommy Market” and bargain for someone who cooks better, listens more, and makes life easier. But each replacement solves one problem while creating another, and the children start to see how impossible it is to shop for the perfect family. As the search spirals into a series of magical deals, their mother, played by Sissy Spacek, is left behind while they learn what they actually want from home.
