Black Books
Comedy25 min per episode
In a cramped London bookshop, Bernard Black runs his business with open contempt for customers, a glass in hand, and little interest in selling anything. Dylan Moran is Bernard, an irritable owner whose life is tied to Bill Bailey’s Manny, his sweet, long-suffering assistant, who gets punished mainly for being the opposite of him. Tamsin Greig’s Fran, their oldest friend, keeps drifting into the shop’s arguments, bad ideas, and minor disasters. Between half-hearted work, heavy drinking, and conversations that spin into absurdity, the store becomes a refuge built as much on books and wine as on the trio’s endless capacity for making a mess of things.
