Broken Embraces
DramaRomanceThriller127 min
Blind writer Harry Caine is forced back into the story he has spent 14 years burying: when, under his real name Mateo Blanco, he was directing his last film and falling for its star. Lluís Homar carries both versions of the man, in the present and in memory, while Penélope Cruz's Lena is an actress caught between the movie set, a wealthy older benefactor, and a dangerous affair. Pedro Almodóvar threads together filmmaking, jealousy, and buried identities as the past closes in on Harry's carefully managed life.
