Vicky Cristina Barcelona

ComedyDramaRomance96 min

On a summer trip to Barcelona, friends Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson) fall into the orbit of Juan Antonio, a painter who bluntly invites them both into his life. Vicky is engaged and cautious; Cristina is less settled, and their attraction to the same man pulls the holiday in different directions. Javier Bardem’s Juan Antonio moves easily through galleries, dinners, and weekend escapes, until his estranged ex-wife María Elena enters the picture. With Penélope Cruz bringing a sharper, more chaotic current to the story, the film turns on shifting loyalties, romantic confusion, and the city’s art-soaked backdrop.
