For Ever Mozart

The story

A group of young people sets out for war-torn Sarajevo hoping to stage a play, carrying art into a place where checkpoints, shelling, and armed factions turn every plan into a gamble. Their trip becomes a fractured road story, moving between arguments about theater, politics, and responsibility and the blunt facts of crossing a country at war. As they press on, rehearsals and ideals collide with shortages, danger, and the indifference of those controlling the roads. Jean-Luc Godard tells the story in shards rather than straight lines, letting scenes of travel, performance, and conflict interrupt each other as the troupe tries to hold onto the idea that culture can still matter in the middle of violence.
