On an alternate 1997 Earth where water is scarce and the wasteland runs on scavenging, an orphaned teen comic-book fan finds a reason to fight back. Munro Chambers is the kid at the center of it, pulled into an adventure when he crosses paths with Laurence Leboeuf’s strange, exuberant survivor and ends up in the sights of a ruthless warlord (Michael Ironside). What begins as a fight to save the girl he loves turns into a scrappy superhero tale built from retro-futuristic junk, BMX chases, comic-book imagery, and sudden bursts of gore.
