K-19: The Widowmaker
DramaMysteryThrillerWar138 min
In 1961, Harrison Ford is Captain Alexei Vostrikov, abruptly placed in command of K-19, the Soviet Union’s first nuclear missile submarine, and sent into the North Atlantic at the height of the Cold War. When defects aboard the vessel trigger a reactor emergency on its maiden voyage, the crew must improvise under extreme conditions to prevent a nuclear disaster. Liam Neeson is among the officers caught between Kremlin orders and a malfunction that threatens everyone on board in Kathryn Bigelow’s drama about duty, secrecy, and survival inside a crippled Soviet sub.
